Our Tutor Training
Elklan offers a comprehensive range of speech, language and communication training for practitioners, schools and other settings. With our support, you can be trained to make a meaningful difference to practice in settings and at home.

Which pathway is right for you?
Elklan Tutor Training
Elklan trains Speech and Language Therapists (SaLTs), Educational Psychologists and Specialist Teachers who have additional qualifications or suitable relevant experience (subject to eligibility, see our policy) to become Elklan Tutors and equip the local workforce using our highly-acclaimed courses accredited by OCN London.
More than 3,500 SaLTs and specialist teachers are Elklan-trained to deliver our training in their localities across the world.
You will receive:
Training from Henrietta or a Lead Elklan Tutor and Professional Advisor
Support to assess and mark learners' work
Access to the Tutors' Area on our website and training on how to manage and run Elklan accredited training programmes
Ongoing support from the Elklan team, before, during and after you deliver Elklan training
How to become an Elklan Tutor
Attend a Total Training Pack (TTP) in the course you wish to deliver. These are currently run by webinar and will be delivered as face-to-face learning again in the future. To deliver additional courses, simply purchase the teaching materials for the course you wish to teach - NO additional TTP training required!
Specialist teachers with additional qualifications or suitable relevant experience in supporting children and young people with speech and language needs can also apply. If you wish to be considered for full tutor status, please apply for the TTP you wish to complete and select 3b on the form. You will then be asked to provide further information regarding your qualifications. Your place on the TTP will be confirmed once this has been reviewed. Please see our policy for more information. If you don't have these additional qualifications or suitable experience, then you can be a co-tutor and teach alongside a full tutor - or ask us to consider whether you may be eligible for full tutor status.

How to become an Elklan AAC Tutor
We offer a Specialist Training Pack (STP), with training from highly-specialist SaLT Andrea Lee to become an Elklan AAC Tutor. This will enable you to deliver our accredited AAC course only.
How to become an Elklan SEMH Tutor
If you have completed one of our Total Training Packs you can train to deliver our course Supporting Social, Emotional and Mental Health of Children and Young People.
How to become an Elklan GLP Tutor
If you have completed one of our Total Training Packs you can train to deliver our new course Supporting Gestalt Language Processing - a Total Communication Approach.
Elklan Let's Talk Tutor Training
Elklan trains a range of professional staff to deliver our Let's Talk courses, which are specifically designed for parents and carers.
If you are an SaLT assistant, Early Years practitioner, Teaching Assistant, teacher, or in fact any professional supporting parents, you can become an Elklan Let's Talk Tutor.
You will receive:
Training from a highly specialist and experienced Elklan tutor
Support to assess and mark learners' work
Access to the Let's Talk Tutors' Area on our website and training on how to manage and run Elklan accredited training programmes
Ongoing support from the Elklan team, before, during and after you deliver Elklan training

Complete the corresponding accredited Elklan core course for practitioners at Level 3
(e.g. complete Speech and Language Support for 5-11s to deliver Let's Talk with 5-11s) -
Apply for the Let's Talk Training Pack (LTTP) for the course you wish to deliver
