As an autistic individual both pre and post diagnosis I have always had an affinity and a natural skill with neurodiverse children, my own diagnosis helped make it clear why. However, while I've always been good at identifying needs and asking for support and I have often come across practices that I don't agree with but also, I don't have anything to refer to in order to challenge it.

This course has not only improved my practice with individuals by providing clear strategies it has given me the skills to better advocate for individuals who struggle to advocate for themselves

I have enjoyed this course very much and it has been extremely relevant to my practice. I am very interested in being able to deliver this course to my colleagues and look forward to receiving information when this is available. Thank you very much to my tutor for her time, answering all my questions and making the sessions welcoming and stress free, I have looked forward to the sessions each week without feeling anxious as a result of our early communication.

I really had the enthusiasm to implement the need to observe a child carefully, record their physical and verbal communications and,starting with what a child could do, write measurable, achievable IPP's which followed the child's lead and were FUN!

I have found the course to be both Interesting and informative and has really encouraged me to reflect on the different ways in which children learn their language and communication skills and how we as educators support them to do this. I liked the format of the course,and have enjoyed the opportunity to discuss the modules with the Tutor during the live webinars. I found the e-learning log easy to use, and the amount of work was not over-whelming.

This course is fantastic!! It fully explains Gestalt Language Processing and echopraxia and how to best support a child/young person who is a GLP as well as how to provide support for those who are non-speakers, or with hyperlexia. It has given me the confidence to advise and support staff within the education environment to develop nuro affirming best practices.

I have extreme joy in the increasing number of communicative moments I am having with certain children since starting the course. It can be so frustrating when everything you have tried with a child isn't working as you would expect and this approach is helping children to 'look up and out' as we are finally tuning in!
