Let's Talk with Special Children

A practical course for those of you who are living or working with children and young people who have complex learning needs and are not yet talking

About the course

This practical training course will help you understand and communicate with your child or young person with whom you live or work.

It has helped many others across the UK understand the complexity of their child’s communication difficulty and gives practical strategies which really help.

It will specifically provide you with:

  • A wealth of information and an opportunity to share experiences with other parents and carers of children and young people with similar learning difficulties and communication challenges
  • Practical advice and strategies which are easy to implement in your home.
  • Let's Talk with Special Children workbook, a practical resource containing an abundance of tips, ideas and strategies
  • Registration with OCN London to enable you to achieve accreditation at level 1 (accredited courses only)

You'll be taught over five 2½ hour sessions. These are available via online webinar as well as direct face-to-face teaching. The content of both is exactly the same, just the delivery method is different. These are fun and interactive and cover a wide range of topics.

Before this course I felt alone, like no one was in the same boat! I didn’t have much hope of H ever communicating properly. Now I have learned any communication is still communication that we can progress further. I have never felt more ready for the months ahead. Usually I dread days; I now wake up positive.

My nursery has noticed a big difference in my positivity around Hs situation. I couldn’t be more greatful to have a place on the course.

& I really do mean that, I hope if anyone else gets the chance they will take it with both hands, I’m still reading the purple book. It is so informative!
